I find that living close to nature on beautiful Puget Sound provides me with endless inspiration. While abstract, most of my works are suggestive of the inhabitants of forest, sky, and sea that I've observed from my back door. Many pieces seem to "contain" several creatures, in a deliberate challenge to the viewer's imagination. Take a piece and set it one way - you can almost see a sounding porpoise; turn it around and a mother seal and her cub start to appear.

I like to think of the work I do as a continuation of a work that Mother Nature began. Often as I study a rough chunk of wood or stone, its beautiful grain and color variations will reveal a form that wants to emerge. My goal is to bring out and enhance that natural form and beauty in a way that always respects the original creation.
